Giving

Thank you for seeking more information concerning how to give to the work of
Opendoor Church. As part of the prophetic vision set before us of ‘Believing Big, Building Big’ we look to God to provide financial resources to fulfil His promises.

We are most grateful for gifts we receive both large and small and regular systematic giving allows us to properly provision for staff, premises, activities etc. The Bible’s teaching on giving is very clear. Paul writes in 1 Corintians 16: 2, ‘On the first day of each week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income’.

We appreciate that some people might find it hard to know how much they should give. As a church we believe that a tithe (10%) is a realistic goal for our giving, but it may be that you will need to plan over time how you can reach this figure and perhaps need to review your outgoings to achieve this. In addition it helps immensely if you can pay by Standing Order which reduces paperwork. If you want a Standing Order Form with all our bank details, please ask Ruth Powers for this information on a Sunday or contact her through the Office on 01480 211066 or email ruth.powers@opendoorchurch.co.uk.

We realise there may be genuine personal circumstances which prevent an individual reaching this goal and we would request you consider carefully how much you are able to give however large or small.

Finally, if you do give and you pay income tax, the church can recover 25p for every £1 you give to the church. This is at no cost to you and all we need is for you to complete a Gift Aid Form and we can do the rest. Please ask if you need more information.

Thank you for your support and encouragement. We feel privileged to be part of a serious work of God here and to have your active support is so much appreciated.
