Loving our town

Opendoor Church has been serving the town of St Neots, Cambridgeshire since 1995. St. Neots is a market town in a beautiful setting on the River Great Ouse. As Cambridgeshire’s largest and fastest growing town, St Neots has a current population of over 40,000 including the surrounding villages.

We love our town and try to serve it in a number of ways.

We have groups for kids and young people on Sundays and during the week. For adults we have a number of fellowship and connection groups during the week including some community groups running at different venues around the town.

We are pleased that we are able to partner with other churches in the town to run the St Neots Foodbank and to fund a Youth for Christ youth worker working into the secondary schools who provides support for mentoring of students and runs after school cafes 2 days a week.

In the past, we have run annual family events where the whole town is invited for fun and games, starting with summer Fun Days in the 2000s, and, more recently, with Christmas Wonderland, a free family craft and games afternoon with a Christmas theme.

In 2018, along with many of the churches in St Neots, we were involved in supporting the Higher Cambs tour, an initiative reaching young people with the gospel through school workshops and concerts.

Our young people have joined young people from other regional churches for worship and prayer evenings such as Crossfire and Fusion, and during the summer holidays went to the Newday youth festival along with another St. Neots youth group.
